Glastonbury, Somerset, UK. 1st May 2019. Beltane celebrations take place every year between the Spring and Summer equinox on the 1st of May. People meet up, get dressed in green, enjoy a parade, music and dance. The festival has its roots in early Gaelic seasonal celebrations, it fits in well with the new age community that this small Somerset town attracts. They gather around the market cross in the town, the may-pole is presented to the May King and Queen who along with the Green men carry the may-pole to the Chalice Well.
