Maui, Hawaii, Ho‘okipa Windsurfers Resembling Butterflies
Ho‘okipa is a beach on Maui which is one of the best windsurfing areas in the world. It features well-shaped waves breaking over a series of reefs plus strong winds — these make it perfect for windsurfing. As a result, a number of competitions are held here bringing the best windsurfers in the world together here. Additionally, board and body surfers will also join in the fun, being careful to not get in each other's way. The waves may have been moderate but the wind was blowing hard and steadily which made it ideal for the surfers who brought their wind surfboards. Whenever I visit Ho‘okipa and see the crowd of windsurfers out on the ocean, I think of butterflies. Maybe it's just me.
