Fittie as it is known locally is Footdee, an original fisherman's village at the foot of the River Dee. It was designed by the same architect as Balmoral Castle and is a blast from the past from the 1800s. It is set out in squares with the lovely cottages where each has an outhouse which would have originally stored the fishing nets. It is now a sought after place to buy a house. Many small business's are here as well as it has retained it's original character. It can be found at the mouth of Aberdeen harbour and can be accessed via the Beach Esplanade of Aberdeen City, Scotland. It comprises of two areas of fishing cottages built in two squares. In olden days the cottages would have housed fishermen and their fisherfolk families
