The mesencephalon, which is the same with the original middlevesicle, and comprises the corpora quadrigeraina and crura cerebri withits contracted internal hollow, the iter a tertio ad quartum ventriculumof human anatomy. 4. The next part in succession is the cerehelhim, along with which isincluderl the pons Varolii and part of the fourth ventricle. 5. The hinder part, which passes into the spinal marrow, is themedulla oblongata, with the remainder of the fourth ventricle and itscontinuation into the central spinal canal.
