Interior of Chinese Daoist (Taoist) temple in South East Asia, showing the elaborate red and gold decoration.

Sze Yah temple, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aka Sze Ya Temple and Sin Sze Si Ya Temple. One of the city's oldest temples, this was originally built on another site, in 1864 and rebuilt here in 1882. It was commissioned by Yap Ah Loy, the third Kapital China of Kuala Lumpur and one of the early developers of the city, whose image appears to the left of the alter. It is dedicated to two people who Yap Ah Loy had been in association with during an earlier civil war. Unusually, non of the traditional deities from China are worshipped here.
