1814, 19th century botanical engraving / illustration of Tobacco plant (Nicotiana tabacum) - used as medicinal plant. See Notes.
Image from an old botanical source - Robert Thornton's Family Herbal of 1814. So well out of copyright. The pages were foxed (ie. yellowed, or in some cases the paper actually orange with age). A large part of this has been removed through saturation channels, while the white levels have been pushed to reduce ultra-visible ink print-through. So, there is a bit of print-through still visible - if brightness & channels are pushed to their limits, along with the paper pulp patina. Turning into a 2-colour H/C image should clear that, while there is also the option of flood filling with white. There has also been a digital clean-up of the most offending ink spots and page damage.
