Unique civil war invention! A piece of artillery, a steam powered machine gun, which could fire rapidly, use no gunpowder, and yet deliver deadly force with accuracy and rapidly. The steam cannon, if constructed carefully, was extremely efficient and dangerous. However, they were never universally adopted.
