Newly emerging Ash Tree leaves
The European Ash is native to most of Europe except northern Scandinavia and southern Mediterranean Europe. It is a deciduous tree with 20-35 cm long, pinnate compound, leaves which are often among the last to open in spring, and the first to fall in autumn. The fruit is a samara and are known as 'ash keys'.
