The painting of the latter is anadmirable study of a surface current sweeping onwardswith its eddies and whorls, and of the confused inter-mingling of two streams. A grey picture, such asthis is, loses far less in the reproduction than onewarmer in tone. The plate, in this instance, givesa very good impression of the effect of the painting,and the study of its details will reveal many furtherbeauties which should not be passed STUDY OF A MOWER. ,
