Triangulum galaxy (M33), composite image. This spiral galaxy, also known as the Pinwheel galaxy, is a member of the Local Group of galaxies, which includes Andromeda as well as our Milky Way. Stars are blue, star-forming regions are red and dust rich in organic molecules is green. M33 has a diameter of around 50-60,000 light years, around half that of the Milky Way. It lies around million light years from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. Imaged obtained by combining data from the infrared array camera and the multiband imaging photometer, both on the Spitzer Space Telescope.
