Historic rice dryers of Katy, Texas
These rice dryers, built around 1940, were outfitted with giant fans and dried the long-grain rice grown in the area west of Houston, Texas, for some 300 farmers. The dryers are located in Katy, Texas. The last harvest was processed in 2005. Fate of dryers has not been determined.
