The building of the Prefecture of Dodecanese, in the modern part of Rhodes town, Rhodes island, Greece. It was formerly the Governor' s palace, during the years of the Italian occupation of the island. It is a combination of many different architectural styles and its arrangement strongly resembles the Palace of the Duces in Venice. It was built in 1927 by the Italian architect, Florestano di Fausto. It was used by the Italians as the Governor's Palace and today it houses the Prefecture of the Dodecanese. On the pole in the center of the photo, was hoisted for the first time the Greek flag on March 31st of 1947, when Rhodes and the whole Dodecanese united with Greece.
