Skara Brae is a neolithic settlement on the nowadays Orkney Islands in Scotland and was occupied between 3180 and 2500 BCE. So it is more than 5000 years old. Stone-built Skara Brae with its modern looking furniture is the most complete neolithic village in Europe and older than Stonehenge and the Great Pyramids in Egypt. Die Steinzeitsiedlung Skara Brae auf den Orkney-Inseln war zwischen 3180 und 2500 v. Chr. besiedelt und ist daher mehr als 5000 Jahre alt. Das aus Stein gebaute Dorf mit den recht modern aussehenden Möbeln ist die best erhaltene Siedlung aus der Jungsteinzeit in Europa, obwohl es älter als der Steinkreis Stonehenge in England und die Pyramiden in Ägypten ist.
