New 280 tonne bridge craned into position at Eton College Dorney Lake Rowing Centre ready for 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games
Eton College Dorney Lake Rowing Centre will host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games rowing and flat-water canoeing events. A new 280 tonne bridge between the main Lake and the return channel was lifted into position by a 1,200 tonne crane 21st January 2010. The bridge leads onto the slim island between the main lake and the return channel. A further 200 tonnes of concrete and tarmac finished off the roadway on top of the bridge making the total weight is 480 tonnes
