Cervical cancer. False-colour magnetic resonance image (MRI) of an axial section through a female pelvis, revealing cancer of the cervix. The tumour appears as the green area on this image; a vaginal tampon (yellow) helps show its size & extent. The appearance of the tumour on the original black & white MRI was enhanced using an intravenous Gadolinium-based contrast agent. Also visible in the image is the bladder (oval, blue) and the hip joints (left & right, in gold). T1 Weighted S/E image. Gadolinium contrast enhancement.
