A few ex-planatory notes in smaller type are placed in the textitself, within brackets, in the style popularised by theWycliffite versions ; for instance the term Gethites forone class of Davids servants is followed by the note(mightie men of warre). Of controversial notes thereappear to be none: but whereas Sir Thomas Moreobjected to the translation Congregation for the GreekEcclesia, that is retained in Matthew xvi and xviii, Iwill build my congregacion : tell it vnto the con-gregacion ; and apparently is the standard rendering.{Lent by the Manchester Free Public Libraries.)
