Metalized plastic films combine plastics with aluminium (typically) to create impermeable and UV-proof packaging. Recycling is possible, via scheme like Walkers' Terracycling but this is expensive and still little-known. Schemes exist nationwide but involve collection points. This demands knowledge and commitment from consumers to collect, store and deliver their snack packets to local collection points.
