Fort Jackson golfers brought the heat despite temperatures during the Commanding General’s 1st Friday Golf Tournament Aug. 5. “The turnout was great. We had over 12 teams despite the heat,” said Paul Tabor, Fort Jackson Golf Course head golf professional. The Captain’s Choice game featured a four person teams playing a 12-hole course. The tournament also featured mini games such as closest to the pin and longest drive. The tournaments are held the first Friday of the month and those wishing to play can register in four person teams or will be matched with a team for single registers.

For those interested in free play or improving their game but are short on time, the course offers Twilight Golf at a reduced rate of $29. “Twilight Golf will start at 1 , Monday through Thursday,” Tabor said. “Authorized patron and their guests can take advantage of less out of pocket costs.” Tabor explained that Twilight Golf will continue until October. Hours will be reevaluated again in October to continue the program. “We are getting a good bit of play already,” Tabor said. “Hope to see you take advantage of Twilight Golf and Guest Days.”
