The Cody Pavilion at the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST) Museum in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, houses this replica of British Army Aeroplane Number 1a. It was built in the balloon factory in Farnborough by Britains first pilot, Samuel Franklin Cody, and flown by him in the town on 16th October 1908, this being the first recognised powered, heavier than air, controlled and sustained flight in Great Britain. The replica was built by volunteers of the museum, and unveiled to the public on the centenary of that first flight, 16th October 2008.
