080701-N-0640K-527 BALASAN, Philippines (July 1, 2008) The coast of Panay Island in the Philippines was hit hard by Typhoon Fengshen and is receiving assistance from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and other ships in the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group. The group is off the coast of Panay Island and is transporting aid supplies throughout the island to areas hardest hit by the typhoon at the request of Philippine government.
