Thermogram of the back of a young boy suffering from chronic juvenile arthritis (Still's disease), showing marked inflammation in the right elbow, represented by the yellow, orange & red area. A thermogram is a colour-coded image of heat distribution, in this case, over the surface of the body. Blue corresponds to the coolest areas, whilst green, yellow & red correspond to increasing steps in temperature. Compare with M110/234 which shows resolution of the inflammation following a steroid injection into the joint, and M110/235, which shows the recurrence of symptoms 2 months later.
