The coronavirus crisis has undoubtedly been the biggest health problem in our country in the last century. Tens of thousands have been infected and killed by Covid-19 in Spain, forcing the authorities to take such drastic measures as home confinements or the imposition of restrictions on mobility and other fundamental rights that, almost a year and a half after the beginning of the crisis, in some cases they still persist. But, in addition to these direct cases, our mental health has also been affected, which many say will be "the new pandemic." A side effect that, according to the group of activists in this area "Crazy Pride Madrid", has caused an "increase in abuses that occur in mental health such as involuntary admission and treatment, restraints, lack of privacy, restriction of exits and visits ... in the different "care" centers: psychiatrists, penitentiaries, juvenile centers and shelters ". They consider that the health crisis "has hit people with less purchasing power", and that the system has only been able to respond to it by "medicalizing our suffering and increasing the benefit of the pharmaceutical industry." In order to give visibility to their demands, in addition to the aforementioned demonstration, they have prepared a thirteen-point manifesto in which they claim a series of demands to "change the biomedical model." Among them, they call for "the end of a biological model that presupposes organic (physical) damage without scientific evidence", "that mental health be a political priority," the recovery of the legitimacy of which we psychiatrized people are deprived "or the "Empowerment of psychiatrized people and survivors of psychiatry". They also highlight that 84% of psychiatrized people are unemployed, which, according to the manifesto, leads them to "poverty and exclusion"
