Reviewing the character-istics of our ease, we would do so as follows: A case of tuberculosis, complicated by empyema. This empyemaaccompanied by both a general and a localized pulsation, the latterforming a distinct tumor about three inches in diameter. A secondarypulsation on right side and epigastrium due directly to the heartaction. A displaced heart. A pneumothorax which developed whilethe patient was under observation, and after all the various signsof pulsation were in existence, due to rupture of the empyema througha bronchus. Pulsation not influenced by aspiration. Signs of peri-cardial adhesion. The case is characteristic in all respects, andit is to be regretted that autopsy was not CASE OF PULSATING EMPYEMA STATISTICAL REPORT CHILDRENS SERVICE, 1905.
