we were not the only ones to pause time and enjoy the viewNot far away, “l’Ile du Mouchoir Rouge” who sees many ‘Régates’ all year round in the bay of Mahebourg. on the little wooden crashing from one ship to another with a full blown battle going on. On the other side of the bay, Lion mountain kept a close look at us while we wandered around. The whole historic event can of course be found at the Naval museum of Mahebourg. the monument erected in the honor of the ‘Bataille de la Passe’On the way, we stopped at the gigantic statue of harmony Swami Sivananda built by volunteers out of cement, stones and pebbles, next to a small temple.
