The Canal de Entrada and the Statue of Christ, Havana,Cuba
Havana is based around the largest natural port in the Caribbean. It was founded in 1519 and became the capital of Cuba in 1558. It grew rapidly as a major Spanish port in the New World despite attacks by pirates. The 17 metre high statue of Christ was sculpted by Jilma Madera in1958. It was commissioned by Mart Batista wife of the dictator.
