In preparing the plates, advantage has beentaken of a method of photographic reproductionrecently invented by Count Ostrorog. This vi Preface. method avoids the employment of a mesh,and consequently obviates the well-known che-quered appearance in the picture which is in-separable from the ordinary process-block.
