The Spa House in Sopot near Gdańsk, Poland
Sopot is a seaside resort on the Baltic coast of northern Poland near Gdańsk. It is a popular tourist destination during summer time with a lovely sea front and ancient buildings. The Spa House ("Dom Zdrojowy") is one of the iconic buildings on the main promenade. The first Spa House with a ballroom was built in 1824. A hotel and casino were added later. They suffered severe damage during World War II. The current building was opened in 2009. Within the complex are the State Art Gallery, the tourist information office, restaurants, cafes and a shopping gallery among others.
