High Bridge at Lincoln England in 1933. High Bridge built around the High Street over the River Witham in Lincoln. It is the oldest bridge in the United Kingdom which still has buildings, once common architectural feature of ancient stone build The present buildings upon it were rebuilt around 1901. The old bridge chapel bridge built in 1235, was unused in 1549 due to the English Reformation and was demolished in 1762 . The opening beneath the bridge has been nicknamed the Glory Hole
