The innovative Sage Building is located on the banks of the River Tyne at Gateshead, UK, adjacent to the Baltic Centre for the Contemporary Arts. Situated opposite Newcastle upon Tyne, it is a modern landmark building of architectural and cultural significance. The building has multi-use functions, including music education, performance and business events. It is primarily a popular cultural venue where pop, folk and classical concerts are held and is home to the Royal Northern Sinfonia orchestra. The Sage, as it is usually known, forms a key part of the imaginative regeneration of the Newcastle/Gateshead riverside.
