Origin : On the farm of , in New York State, aboutthe year 1800, judging from theappearance of the original tree,which was still standing in the year1900. Quite recently, it was intro-duced to the public by Mr. Collins,under the name Comet, because ofa fancied resemblance by reason ofits bright red color.
