At the beginning the bank entered upon an era ofsuccessful growth, its course being one of continuous expansion, and on September IS, 1912,the consolidation of the First National and the Union National Banks was announced, markingthe consummation of one of the most important financial deals ever carried out in the state,resulting in Grand Forks being given one of the strongest banking institutions in thenorthwest.
