The sandstone church was constructed on the site of previous churches, and was paid for by the 1st Duke of Westminster. Along with the Cheshire villages of Aldford and Saighton, the village of Ecclestone forms part of the 11,500 acre Duke of Westminster’s Eaton Estate.
