Theformer varies in thickness from fourteen to twenty-eightinches and is extensively mined at Thurber in Erathcounty. Here the Texas and Pacific Coal Companyoperates four collieries and has an output of 400,000 tonsannually. This seam is also mined near Bridgeport inWise county, at Rockcreek in Parker county, and nearStrawn in Palo Pinto county.
