WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Aug. 30, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class (AW/SW) Sarah Atiyyat gives the signal to the elevator operator to lower elevator one in the hangar bay of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The elevator was lowered incrementally so Sailors could perform preventative maintenance by applying fresh grease on the railings. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
