Tronende paus Adrianus VI; Titelpagina voor: Kaspar Burmann, Hadrianus VI, sive analecta historica de Hadriano Sexto Trajectino, papa romano, prints on a leaf. Left: In the middle, Pope Adrianus VI. He carries the Tiara, the Petrus Cappa Magna and the keys. Two putti sit on the back of the throne on either side of a medallion with the letters Spqr (Senatus Populus Que Romanus). At the top left is Minerva. On the right is next to an angel a bishop with a staff, fasces and a shield. Adrianus' feet is part of the title of the book and underneath it 'e minima [re] Maxima' (from a little bit of small ones), above some people in a procession. Adrianus right hand rests on the shoulder of probably Charles V. The left hand of the Pope blesses a cardinal, possibly Willem van Enckevoirt. Right: Vignette with the temple of virtue in the middle. In a medallion on the temple an emblem and the motto virtutis gloria merces. The emblem shows some men trying to climb into a tree. On either side of the temple the personification of wisdom. She hands a laurel wreath a young man. Jacob van Poolsum print mark.
