An Indian cavalry armour, Deccan Highlands, 17th century Helmet of three hammered iron plates, the central plate is ridged. Attachment holes at the crown for a helmet spike, in front a mount for a nose-guard. All three plates are held together by riveted brass rings. Attached is an unassociated aventail of very finely riveted chain mail. Height 45 cm. Included is a long sleeved mail shirt of riveted rings, the breast is reinforced by large lamellar plates and the back with smaller lames. Length about 85 cm.
