Soyuz spacecraft leaving Earth. Artwork of a Soyuz TMA-M spacecraft (lower centre, black) connected to an extended stay module (labelled 'Future' in Cyrillic), both with a crew capacity of three. At right is a Russian space tug ('Parom' or 'Ferry') and the upper-stage booster rocket (top right) that has boosted the spacecraft out of Earth orbit (Earth at left) on a trajectory to the Moon. The Russian Soyuz TMA-M (crew of three) is a modified version of the Soyuz TMA spacecraft. It has been in use since 2010. Plans have been made for missions to the Moon and Mars, but they are not expected to take place until after 2020.
