Wilbur Wright (1867-1912), future US aviator, at around 10 years of age. Wilbur and his brother Orville are famous for building the first powered aircraft, flown by Orville on 17 December 1903. After this, the Wright brothers continued to develop their machines, flying publicly for the first time in 1908 near Le Mans, France. Wilbur died of typhoid fever in 1912.
