This experimentis a little tedious; but it is a very interesting one. Afterthe lantern and plate are first adjusted, some other experi-ment may he proceeded with while the heat operates; oroxidation may be hastened by covering the hot plate witha film of solid paraffin, which will easily spread and greatlyhasten the process. g8. Soap Films.—Soap films, however, offer the mostsplendid phenomena. A good solution is of great importance, and there are many recipes, the most generally known beingPlateaus.
