Mostbirds under similar circumstances fancy themselvespursued, and become suspiciously uneasy; but, in-stead of growing nervous about it, he made hisusual dippings, and sang one of his most tranquilstrains. When observed within a few yards theireyes are seen to express remarkable gentleness andintelligence; but they seldom allow so near a viewunless one wears clothing
