Ben Olivas, a Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) assigned to Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC), competes in a swimming event as part of Surface Line Week (SLW) 2017 on board Naval Base San Diego, Aug. 15. SLW is an annual competition hosted by Commander, Naval Surface Force, Pacific Fleet for San Diego based Surface commands. Each year, Sailors, Marines, and Department of the Navy civilian employees in the area come together to compete in both athletic and professional events and build camaraderie within the Surface community
