It left an indelible mark, for it clutchedin its relentless fingers some of the mostefficient officers and employes. It causeduntold suffering among employes andtheir families and all hope that it hasgone into exile, as has the worlds othergreat pest, the Kaiser. After about sixweeks of suffering the railroad workersare again taking up their tasks with theaccustomed vigor and soon the trafficwill be moving with that smooth regu-larity which marked it before the epi-demic raised its head. Few cases arereported on the Eastern Lines. The disease made many new , nurses and volunteers outsidethe medical profession all displayedwonderful courage and a spirit of un-excelled sacrifice when they were calledupon to battle against the influenza.
