BIZARRE BOOKBINDING USING HUMAN SKIN - anthropodermic bibliopegy - A book bound in the skin of criminal John Horwood, a miner's son convicted of murder in Bristol, England, and executed in 1821. He was the first person to be hanged at Bristol New Gaol. His victim was a girl of his own age, Eliza Balsom ( also spelled Balsum/Balsam) who died after an attack by the boy and underwent a trepanning operation which some claimed was the actual cause of her death.
