Closely resembles Drake's Seedling. Kernel very plump and of medium size, soft shell. Valuable to plant with other varieties for pollenation, most vigorous grower. As a regular and sure cropper has no equal. CHESTNUTS This nut tree does best when planted on river bottom land. Yet many good specimens may be seen at different points throughout the state growing in soils varying from sandy to loamy, and even heavy clay. The one main requisite being plenty of moisture with sub- soil that will permit free root penetration. Considerable difficulty
