Kneiphof Island, known nowadays as Kant Island, is one of the island parts of the city of Koenigsberg, now called Kaliningrad. Kneiphof is located in the center of the city, in the middle of the Pregolya River, at the intersection of two historical regions - Sambia and Natangia. The main Kaliningrad transport highway - Leninsky Prospekt - passes through the island from north to south. In the 1970s, an arboretum and a sculpture park were laid on Kneiphof. Nowadays, the only building on the island is a large cathedral. It is known that before the terrible bombing of 1944, there was a whole residential area on Kneiphof, which had 28 streets with a tram moving along them, 304 houses, one town hall and one cathedral.
