Bandit and Lucas engaging in the sky. Cotswold, UK: THESE ACTION shots caught a young pair of black kites fighting mid-air, talons out as they locked claws. One image shows the two about to collide, legs outstretched to catch the opponent in their claws. The two are young black kites, named Bandit and Lucas. Black kites can live up to 28 years and have a wingspan of nearly five feet. They can weigh just over pounds. These images were captured by James Poole (26), aka Jays Captures, at Cotswold Falconry, UK using a Nikon D5600 camera. ?The action shots of Bandit and Lucas were a bit of luck, as I was about to put down my camera I noticed some of the action,? said James. ?As I looked up I took a short burst of images and got a couple of nice shots. ?The other photos were just all about following the Kites flying patterns and getting detailed captures of the birds. ?To capture in-flight shots of birds of prey is always a tough challenge, with some birds being more agile than others it provides a great challenge. ?To walk away with even a couple of photos is a massive achievement and definitely something to be proud of. ?Seeing these beautiful birds of prey up close gets better and better each
