Gilded bronze clock made in Florence, by a German craftsman. A spherical zodiac with a silver moon sits at the top of the clock. The front side has sun and night dials. The back of the clock has an astrolabe, a medieval instrument once used to determine the altitude of the sun or other celestial bodies.
