YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 22, 2018) - Machinist's Mate 3nd Class, Leonard Barnes, from Wilson, inserts a lit torch into the One Bravo boiler aboard the 7th Fleet Flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). This is the first time in nearly two years Blue Ridge has had her boilers lit and is steaming under her own power following an extended selected restricted availability. Blue Ridge and her crew have now entered a final upkeep and training phase in preparation to become fully mission capable for operations.
