Oni no Setchin, Setchin Stone or Devil's Toilet; originally the inner chamber of an earth-covered burial mound, or kofun.

Oni no Setchin (also spelled: Onino Secchin, Oni-no-setchin, Oni no Kawaya, etc), part of the inner chamber of an ancient Japanese burial site or kofun. In English, it is known as the Devil's Toilet or Demon's Privy. Usually this is covered by earth to form a mound; in this case, however, the parts of the chamber have become exposed and have separated. This part is thought to be upside-down compared with its original position inside the burial mound. The story is that a devil ('oni") would kidnap people, chop them up on a nearby flat stone known as the Devil's Chopping Board, eat them, then relieve himself here, hence the name. The Devil's Chopping Board is presumed to be the base of this burial chamber.
