On March 4th last Mayor Hacker and -a. large delega-tion of the city council visited Chicago, and inspected, atPullman, a car exhibited by the Judson people. It wasnot, however, of the threadless screw type, but merelya huge iron tank on wheels, filled with compressed airand driven by small engines. It ran a few times up anddown a bit of track, and the demonstration was transferredto a big dinner at one of the hotels, where, between thepopping of corks, time was found to adopt a set of reso-lutions endorsing the air engine and expressing confidencein the ultimate success of the air motor in Leavenworth. The exhibition at Pullman, however, proved nothing, andcould not be called a test as accepted by street rail-way managers.
